When Opportunity Knocks...

Recently I began a partnership with a few of my cousins here in Las Vegas in a business by the name of BAROQUE EVENTS (pronounced buh-rohk, meaning Timeless). From the beginning it came with all sorts of feelings, excitement, fear, inadequacy, etc. but it honestly has been an adventure and something that I can't get off my mind or even stop talking about. It's come to a point where I literally eat, drink, and sleep BAROQUE, funny, yes but I LOVE IT! You always hear people say "THE SKIES THE LIMIT" that literally is being implemented in my life right now...and I have to ask myself, "What took you so long"? Who would've ever thought I'd be part owner of a company in less than a year of living here. All I can say is... better late than never right??

From a young age I've always wanted to be successful, and make a name for myself but could never really grasp how to get started and living in Vegas has opened my eyes to a lot of things. I've also been reading a lot too, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Money Class etc. There's always room for improvement! In just the short time that I've lived here (almost a year) I've been allowed to do so much. VIP at Gladys Knight's show @Tropicana, front and center @the Palms embracing the smooth sounds of Brian Mcknight, cheering on the electrifying moves of the Jabbawockeez @Monte Carlo, or even singing along with Colbie Caillat her ever famous Falling for You @Mandalay Bay... Yes Life's Good.. not because I'm able to do so much here, that's just a *bonus* but because there's so much opportunity and the Amazing part is meeting people that continue to inspire me to actual
ly live the dreams I've had for so many years.

So of course we as a company were able to coordinate the VIP/Green Rooms for the latest concert in Salt Lake City promoted by Kulture Shock, the "Let's do it again Jam". Was it hard work of course, but it was FUN hard work! W
e love what we do and although J-Boog was the headliner and I was able to meet him, I have to say that Common Kings came ready and with it! They were so energetic, they made me tired hahaha... CK have to be some of the most humble performers I've met and I hope to see them mainstream and also perform again soon.

(The Amazing Common Kings)

I thank God everyday for everything I have, talents, opportunity, life, but most importantly what I'm able to do with the life he's given me. What goods a life if it's not lived? Never limit yourself, even if it means using self affirmations daily, in the end, the only thing that counts is how you feel when you've reached SUCCESS...

Missing Uncle Amos...

It's been 2 years since Uncle Amos passed away and I couldn't help but think about him knowing that Chris and Ingrid were getting married this week.

We know that tomorrow's never promised, yet we still live our days as if tomorrow is guaranteed, I know I'm guilty of that.

(Uncle Amos & Chris....thanks InKee)

Whenever we have family gatherings here in Vegas I miss this guy. I miss his heart of Gold and how he always made us kids laugh when he'd clown on his cousins, (our Dad's) that still speak with a bit of broken english but manage to keep the "cool guy" status hahaha. When he was alive his house was the main gathering place. His kitchen the main preparation area for eatings, his table the main place to slap dominoes, and his BBQ grill the main cooking appliance. He loved when my brothers came down from Salt Lake so they could eat and play all day. If I met him before I was probably too young to remember but knowing him for the time I did especially when our Mapu Family started having our Christmas Party's here EVERY December, felt like I've known him forever. He was an awesome man that is greatly missed and I'm so greatful for the plan of salvation that confirms that I will see him again!

Love you Uncle Amos....

Happy Birthday Kinga!

and I Love Her!

If anyone knows my sister they know she is pretty random and off the wall at times. She can always put a smile on my face. She makes me laugh with her witty comments, and the way she misuses or mispronounces words fill the room with laughter every time she speaks. Her comments are straight forward and you can always count on her to "tell it like it is" even if she says it nicely or laughs afterwards hahaha... She's a great example of a "Follower of Jesus Christ" and I've learned so much from her when it comes to the Gospel. She keeps you on your toes, and her family in line and I love that about her.

Ever since I can remember, Kinga has never liked cooking however she's always been a clean freak hahaha.. Not OCD like, but just always cleaning. Whatever was dirty in the house, she could clean it. Lucky for me, since I'd rather cook than clean, we've made a GREAT team, like Bert & Ernie, Phineas & Ferb, Batman & Robin haha... you get the point. When I moved to Vegas, that changed. I love waking up when I visit and she has breakfast ready. She's found her way around the kitchen and now makes meals for her small/BIG family lol...

This past Monday was her birthday. Sad I wasn't there to celebrate with her, but we made up for it Thursday when we got in to town. In my book, as long as it's within the month of the birthday, we're good. haha We (Mom, Grandma, Kinga & I) started off by attending a session at the Salt Lake Temple, I just love that temple for it's Beauty, Spirit, and Significance.

(Took this on our way out)

Following we had lunch at the Garden Restaurant in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, if you haven't been there, you have to go!
After lunch, Kinga got to do a birthday launch...

If you don't know what that is, they have you write your name and a wish on a piece of paper, they tie it to a balloon, open up the roof and you launch your balloon. The whole restaurant joined in the celebration and then up up and away her balloon went!

It was a great way to start off our day! I love her with all my heart and am so proud to call her MY BIG SISTER...
